this post is way overdue, we have been back from our honeymoon for almost two weeks already. i just haven’t had the timeurge, to blog lately.
we arrived in LA on thursday, march 29, 2007. the flight was really long and uncomfortable. next time i fly from australia i’ll definitely book with qantas. we flew with united and the plane was really old.we left LA for vegas on monday, april 6. the drive was ok, although there was a bit of traffic because of roadworks.
we stopped over denny’s to have lunch and then drove straight to wynn. we got there at about 4pm. butch kept on insisting on driving with the top down but i didn’t really want to cos it was too hot and i didn’t want my hair all over the place.
we checked into tower suite # 2808. the view from the room was breathtaking. we were at the back of the hotel so the view that we had was of the golf course. apparently it costs $500 to play golf there.

here’s a recap of where we went during our 5-day honeymoon at vegas:
- monday, april 2: had dinner at tableau, wynn; watched spamalot; had drinks at parasol up
- tuesday, april 3: had lunch at red 8, wynn; went shopping at fashion show mall; went swimming; got allergies from the pool
; had a massage at the spa; went to mgm to watch KA
- wednesday, april 4: watched the mac king comedy magic show at harrah’s; had dinner at eiffel tower restaurant, paris
- thursday, april 5: walked around to the other hotels near wynn; watched le reve at wynn.
- friday, april 6: had lunch at red 8 again, went to primm valley factory outlets
although we went to vegas we didn’t really gamble. i guess when you see slot machines left, right and centre, it just gets a bit boring hehe. we also didn’t get to walk around much cos it was too hot, i feel faint whenever it’s hot and i have to walk/stand for long periods.
the room at wynn was quite good. and because we stayed at the tower suites we had our own reception, separate from the other hotel guests. we also had a separate pool area but the water was a bit suss because after we went swimming i developed REALLY itchy and red rashes.
next time we go to las vegas we might stay at the bellagio. we want to try out the other hotels and restaurants there. i’m not in a hurry to go back though, it’s too tiring. another funny thing i found about vegas was there were so many mexicans handing out “business cards” of strippers that you can call and who’d be in your room in twenty minutes. they aren’t even selective of who they give the cards to: couples, kids, parents, etc. it doesn’t matter if you look like you’re on your honeymoon, gotta hand out those cards!
