my milk supply has been quite good since we came to LA so i actually stopped giving matt a bottle unless we were out or if we had to leave him at home with my MIL. however over the last couple of weeks we hadn’t really gone out so i think matt has forgotten how to drink from a bottle! i’ve also ran out of karicare gold and we started him on nestle’s good start but he seems to hate that formula with a passion. my MIL got him to drink EBM last week but i can’t really express that much so my EBM supply is limited.

i’ll get him to try enfamil lipil and see how that works. i prefer he drank EBM if he needs to drink from a bottle but i’m just not able to express as much. the most i’ve ever expressed was 80ml in total for both breasts and that was when i was really engorged.

although i’m really pleased with myself, having breastfed for 15 weeks and still going :)

last night matt slept in his crib and i, well, didn’t get any sleep cos i was waiting for him to wake up so i could resettle him :D

i suppose he will need to get used to his crib, especially if we are going to teach him how to sleep using sleepy planet’s methods. apparently when he is 4 months old AND 14 pounds, he is ready for sleep learning. i am hoping he will do it on his own without us having to resort to this, but if not i think i am OK with letting him cry for a bit. he has to learn how to sleep somehow, and i need to get a full night’s sleep!

anyway matt is napping on me right now, i think i’ll let him stay this way so i can get some sleep myself. zzzzz

it’s so true that babies grow up so quickly that buying too many clothes in a specific size is a waste of money. matt’s only turning 3 months and some of his clothes don’t fit anymore! i’ve been dressing him up in his new “going out” clothes just to get at least one wear out of them, before matt outgrows them.

here’s matt looking like he’s going to go jogging lol

it’s so funny cos the jogging pants actually have POCKETS! :D what would a 2 month old need pockets for??

in other news i’m getting some normalcy back into my life… i’ve ironed my hair a few times, got a pedicure and got my eyebrows threaded. now if only i can go back to my pre-pregnancy body, then that would be great hehe

butch and i went to babies ‘r us yesterday to shop for some of matt’s stuff. we bought him a fisher-price rainforest open-top cradle swing to help him with his daytime naps. he seems to enjoy it, although i think he is too curious with all that’s going on for him to be able to really fall asleep. he has slept while on the swing a few times, although only in half an hour blocks.

now if only i had this while i was still in canberra, it would’ve saved matt and i a lot of grief during the day!

i went over to the bubs shop at fyshwick this morning to buy the ergobaby carrier and infant insert. i was originally going to take the baby bjorn to the airport but i realised how fussy it is to take on and off. plus i put matt in it yesterday to do a sort of dry run but he just hated it!

anyway so i tried the ergo today and he wasn’t too happy at first but after a few minutes he fell asleep (and still sleeping!)… my only concern is that he looks a bit squished so i’m not sure if i’ve put him in correctly. but i suppose if he’s sleeping soundly then that means he’s comfy, otherwise i’m pretty sure he’d let me know about it!

here’s matt looking a bit nalugi after being put inside the ergo:

anyway, this new purchase seems a bit promising! if things go well then it seems like matt and i will get some sleep on our 14 hour flight to LA :D
