happy 1st anniversary
it felt really weird walking down the aisle and having everyone’s attention on us. even though the minister(?) already told us what we should do when we were actually there we were still a bit nervous. the ceremony lasted about 10 minutes and there were a couple of bloopers too hehe. firstly the ring wouldn’t fit his finger! it only went up to the middle hehe. and secondly, he kissed me even before the minister told him that he could kiss me LOL
we also had a taste of what it would be like on the church wedding, so many photos!! i got really tired of all the smiling, and to think that was just with 30 odd guests, what more for the church wedding with 220 guests!
after the ceremony (and tons of photos), we went to bamboo restaurant for the lunch. the food was good, although not exactly the ones i ordered. but at least everyone was full
after lunch we headed off to crown promenade hotel, where ninong berning booked a room for us for our honeymoon. the hotel was really nice, and they gave us champagne and chocolates on the house because they knew that it was our wedding night.
the following day we drove to canberra for EIGHT HOURS. when we got there we checked in at the Rydges Lakeside Hotel, which was booked for us by my mum’s friends. we feel so lucky because we have been blessed with so much.
next day we had dinner at La Pasa restaurant with my SFC Canberra friends and my mum’s friends from their choir. they were teasing us because we were about half an hour late LOL tita coy, who used to own a bakery in phils, prepared a cake for us.
there were about 50 people during the dinner and they kept tapping their glasses so that butch & i would kiss LOL we also cut the cake, wedding-reception-style.
anyway, the next day we drove to sydney and stayed there for a couple of days. we also met up with apple, who i just found out is also engaged already! i got to meet her fiance, Perry.
so many things have happened since then, maybe when i get a chance i’ll try and write about some of them
in the meantime it is time to have breakfast! (at 4pm lol)
last night, jet, datot and i had dinner at bamboo restaurant. this is the same restaurant that we are having our post-wedding lunch next saturday. i don’t want to call it reception since really it’s just a lunch anyway. we won’t be having cake, centerpieces, etc that you usually have at wedding receptions.
i spoke to the guy who runs the place and gave him the list of dishes that we’re having . i’ve reserved 4 tables with eight people per table. here are the dishes i’ve picked:
- chicken & sweet corn soup
- sizzling garlic king prawns
- crispy duck
- black bean beef
- sweet & sour pork
- chinese veggies with mushroom
- banana fritters and ice cream
i’m not entirely sure if 5 main dishes will be enough for a table of eight… anyway if it’s not then we might have to order another dish. they were very nice as well, they’re giving us the rice for free (they’ll probably regret this since everyone attending is filo and we eat A LOT of rice!), the first three jugs of coke free and free house wine too.
oh, and with just a week to my wedding, i have been eating more than usual too. TSK! i have been having dessert with every meal that i have, even at work. now what’s the easiest way to lose 10 pounds in 5 days?
i finally bought my civil wedding dress. after spending over 2 hours walking in the city last friday, i was able to buy my dress in the mall 5 minutes away from our house. i was really lucky cos there were only two dresses left in the style that i wanted. and to top it all off, i had to get the dress that was size 12 because the size 14 one was too big for me
who would’ve thought?? but i suppose it helped that i hadn’t had lunch then and only had toast for breakfast haha
it’s not much but the important thing is i don’t look like a whale in it and it fits
) i also wanted a brown dress since my church wedding motif is going to be brown & pink. not that the colour of my civil wedding dress matters but it’s nice to be consistent
