whoever coined the phrase “sleeping like a baby” obviously doesn’t have any kids. tomorrow matthew will be one month old, and yes i have been sleeping like a baby - not getting any decent sleep! matt has self-settling issues but at 8.30am today he settled on his own!!!! :) :) :)

he woke up this morning crying, we co-slept last night because i was too tired to have to get up and feed him and do the whole wrapping-rocking-laying down the bassinet routine. anyway i had a pretty good sleep but when he woke up he just wouldn’t feed while we were lying down. so i fed him in the cradle hold and he was feeding pretty well.

at 7.50am he finished feeding and yawned so i wrapped him up, expecting a violent reaction but there wasn’t any so i thought i might as well follow that sleep group paper that the nurse gave me yesterday. so i left the room and surfed the net for a bit and at 8.12am came back to the room hoping he was already asleep. when i get back, sh*t! he’s got hiccups! so i sat quietly next to his bassinet, and was waiting for him to cry so i can try patting him to sleep. i didn’t want to look over his face just in case he decided he wanted to be cuddled. so i sat and waited and at 8.30am he is already asleep! i couldn’t believe it LOL :D

well it’s already 8.45am and he’s still asleep. i’ve checked on him twice (sneaking in quietly of course) just to make sure i’m not imagining it and yes he is still asleep! i’m so happy :) :) :) hopefully this isn’t just a one-off thing hehe.

having recently watched the latest harry potter movie, i was inspired to re-read book 6 and pre-order book 7 lol when i first book 6 i hated it, because i thought there was too much focus on ron and hermione’s “courtship” and there wasn’t as much action as there was in the previous books. however after reading it all over again, it wasn’t that bad. i suppose the book couldn’t really have too much action, considering it’s meant to build up what’s going to happen in book 7.

i am one of those people who cannot wait to find out what the ending is so i tried googling on spoilers about book 7 hehe. it doesn’t look like there are any genuine spoilers out there, just speculation from fans on what’s going to happen. this site has an image of a page from book 7, but i don’t really know if it’s genuine. maybe it’s just one of those fan lit that had been going around. the title on the website says that snape dies killing voldemort in order to save harry, but that doesn’t make sense cos harry is the one that needs to kill voldemort. unless they meant snape dies trying to kill voldemort, that would make much more sense.

i think harry will find out that snape was just acting on dumbledore’s orders, even if that meant killing dumbledore himself. i cannot wait for the book! i’ll try not to read the ending first when i get the book lol only one more week to go :D

benadryl itch relief spray i have been plagued with hives for more than three months already. there is nothing more annoying than getting an itch, scratching it and having the spot you just scratched look like bubble wrap five minutes later. before i found out that i was pregnant i had been taking oral antihistamines, from zyrtec (which was available over the counter in australia) to benadryl allergy tablets. i also tried using anti-itch creams. and even though i had no muscle pains of any sort, i used bengay just for the heat.

since i’m now pregnant i can’t really take a lot of medicines, so this afternoon butch and i were on a mission to find something that would help me with my hives and be safe enough for my condition. so far benadryl itch relief spray has been a godsend :) whenever i took oral antihistamines i noticed that i was still really sleepy when i woke up in the mornings, but now i’m not so sure if it was the medicine or just me being pregnant hehe :D

my mother-in-law introduced me to zuma and i have been playing the game everyday on her computer. it’s a bit harder to play the game using the trackpad on the laptop so we’ve been taking turns in playing the game hehe. she’s already finished all thirteen levels but i’m still on level nine and still slow :( it’s suuuper addictive. apparently you can play it on xbox 360 too. the controls will probably be easier than using a mouse. i wish i had an xbox 360!! lol

here’s a video of what playing zuma is like:

basically you have to get rid of all the balls on the screen. you can also get bonus points for hitting coins and for finishing the stage earlier than the “ace time”.

we just got back from watching spiderman 3 in rolling hills amc. we got there at around 6 and almost all the shows were already sold out! we got a ticket for the 10.05pm session. they have two sessions running every hour and they were sold out.

islands burgerwhile waiting we went to bed, bath and beyond and window shopped for about half an hour. after that i continued my quest for the perfect burger :D i have been craving cheeseburgers of late. yesterday we had in-n-out and today we had dinner at islands restaurant. i had the big wave with cheese but without the onions. i liked how they put butter on the bread. i think i would rate this burger a 7 out of 10.

i’m a bit over my burger cravings now but who knows when i will want my next burger fix. in the meantime i am trying to find avocado ice cream here in LA!
