tomorrow will be a busy day cos we are getting the moving truck plus buying some stuff at ikea. lucky my in-laws are helping us cos at least there is someone to watch over matt while i get organised. first thing on my list is to organise the kitchen and then the bathroom. so much to do! lol

i can’t wait for the living room to be all set up so matt can start crawling and cruising

matt turned nine months on tuesday and since my last entry matt has done so many things already. a few days after he turned eight months he started sitting unsupported, and last week he started going from a crawling position into the sitting position all by himself! he also loves pulling up to a standing position by holding on to the bed rails. we have to keep an eye on him all the time cos he’s already so malikot.

he’s now eating 3x a day, but he hasn’t eaten a lot of meat yet cos they’re a pain to prepare. i gave him gerber beef a couple of times but i’ve stopped cos he developed really bad eczema on monday and i’ve put him on a bland diet just to help his skin clear up. i don’t think the gerber caused it, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. we’ve been putting sorbolene on him every couple of hours and we’ve also been bathing him using sorbolene.

we’re moving soon and i can’t wait to have our own space. hopefully matt will start cruising soon once the space is all set up.

matt turned eight months last sunday

in the past month he has experienced his first winter and got his first colds. he seems to have also started recognising faces cos he knows when i am not around and starts to fuss! i love and hate that he always wants me around. i love it because i know he knows who i am, i hate it because it’s hard not being able to take longer breaks.

i bought him an activity center and a travel cot so that he can learn to sit up, crawl and stand up. unfortunately he hates the cot with a passion and the activity center he mainly uses in the morning so that he can poop lol it’s funny cos 99% of the time he will not poop in the morning unless he is sitting on his activity center.

also this month he went on his fourth long haul flight from sydney to LA. he was OK on the trip, although he had a hard time going to sleep because he was too busy trying to get the magazine of the person sitting next to me. that girl was such a pain, she hardly slept at all and kept the light on, which meant matt could not sleep too. oh by the way, at night matt can only sleep if it’s pitch dark so no more late night tv!

i’ve forgotten when it started, but it’s been ages, matt also doesn’t poop through the night anymore. i just realised it a few weeks back when i wasn’t able to change him before he went to bed, so he slept with poop in his nappy LOL poor thing.

i started him on solids last month and he was very keen then, unfortunately after his colds he never really got back to being super interested with eating. he still eats, but only 2-3 spoonfuls at a time. he likes arrowroot biscuits A LOT though.

matt turned seven months yesterday!

so many things happened last month matt went swimming in cebu and batangas, rode another airplane to go back to australia and started eating solids! unfortunately for matt, he got a cold (and still has it) because of the weather here in canberra. he has also started being very bungisngis and more attached to me. he still hates his car seat but he has allen asleep a couple of times on it which is very promising.

thanks to his activity center i am able to get things done even if it’s just the two of us, even taking showers! lol his sleep habits are ok i guess, it’s hard to say cos his being sick has messed up his night sleeps.

another downside is we’ve all gotten cough and colds it’s true what they say that if you can just take your kid’s pain you would do it in a heartbeat. i hate it when matt’s having a hard time breathing and i hate it even more when i have to give him his saline nasal drops and try to clean his nose. he hates it with a passion and i have to be the bad guy who has to insist on clearing up his nose. he’s getting a bit better though, i just hope he gets better soon so that both of us can get some sleep at night!

i think for the next baby i’d prefer him/her to be a winter baby. it’s easier to dress and undress a baby that’s hardly mobile, as opposed to matt who doesn’t understand the concept of staying still hehe. and by the time that baby is six months, it would be summer already and won’t have to wear as much clothes! lol

matt turned six months a few weeks ago and i haven’t had the chance to write a post about it until now.

while we were in the philippines matt has mastered rolling over, so much so that as soon as he wakes up in the morning he rolls over straight away. i have also seen him sleeping on his tummy on some occasions, although he usually goes back to sleeping on his back by morning.

we tried training him on the bottle a week before the wedding but he wouldn’t have any of it. instead he preferred drinking from the lid of the bottle, sort of like a cup. on the wedding itself he actually drank from a bottle, probably from being really hungry. he also got baptised on 19 july, and he really hated wearing a barong! LOL

he has also started getting upset whenever we eat in front of him, shouting at the top of his lungs and the only way to shut him up is to give him a boob lol he also puts anything and everything he can grab hold of into his mouth.

matt turned five months today and so much has happened since my last monthly post.

in the last month matt has started smiling a lot, even for me! he also started crawling (more like creeping) but he gets really tired when he does it. he’s also sleeping better at night, i think because he can now change positions by himself. we also went to the doctor and he now weights 17 pounds, 13 ounces and is 25 inches long! but the biggest surprise by far is that he is starting to cut a tooth on the right side of his bottom gums. he has also started to show interest in food, even trying to grab his daddy’s coke!

he still hates his car seat and the stroller, although he’s improved quite a bit, falling asleep on his own a couple of times on the stroller without having to be breastfed. he’s still boycotting formula and the bottle, but when he’s really hungry you can get him to drink breast milk from a bottle.

next month will be exciting because he will be starting solids when we go back to australia.

we have just over 3 weeks before we fly to the philippines. i’m looking forward to seeing my parents and cousins. i’m worried about the actual wedding day though, i hope matt takes the bottle that day. otherwise i will be breastfeeding while in my wedding gown lol

matt is now four months. as usual, it only seems like yesterday when i was typing the post for month 3.

in the last month matt has started smiling regularly for his dad, giggled a few times, started wearing size 6 months clothes, stopped drinking formula and started grasping his bib and the belt on his swing. he also enjoys bath times a lot more now, with me soaking wet after each bath. he is also starting to get a bald patch on the back of his head, i think he might be shedding some of his hair.

as for me i am no longer so sleep deprived although i still feel like i am, shedding some of my hair too and still not losing weight

matt is relatively easier to put to sleep at night, although days are still a bit of a struggle. his regular bedtime is around 9pm and he wakes up anytime from 7-8.30am. he still wakes up a few times during the night to feed, but at least he doesn’t groan and grunt as much anymore.
