fabfoto postcard souvenir

more postcards here.

for our wedding favours we chose photo postcards by fabfoto because we thought it would be better if guests can take home something that includes them and not just some random figurine or something. anyway the postcards turned out great, some things that i wish we foresaw were:

- we should have made the photo booth somewhat mandatory, so that we could’ve taken advantage of the unlimited printing and that everyone has a souvenir.
- maybe just put one photo per postcard, since you have to pose four times before the postcard gets printed.
- i wish the font colour on the side (where it says “butch + ida = matt”) was a bit brighter.

anyway, apart from those three things overall they were great. i think our guests especially enjoyed having the props onsite, which made posing even more fun :)

if i had to give them a score it would be a 4.5 out of 5.

I know I wrote something before about giving a donation instead of wedding favours, however I realised that maybe it would be better this time around if we actually gave favours instead. It would be nice if our wedding guests can take something home that will remind them of our wedding.

Guests

For the guests we are looking at having a Fabfoto booth at the reception and we will have unlimited 4r prints with prenup photos and details of the wedding on the header and a picture of our baby and the details of the christening on the footer. Butch really warmed up to this idea, which isn’t a surprise at all knowing how much of a cam whore he is! :D

Here is a sample of a Fabfoto souvenir:

butch and i have decided that we want to donate to gawad kalinga instead of giving away wedding favors. i’ve noticed that with most wedding favors, they usually just end up gathering dust. my mum keeps wedding/party favors in a shelf at home and i must have only looked at the souvenirs once or twice before they became “invisible” to me. you know how you’re so used to things being there that you end up forgetting they’re there? that’s what i mean. no offense to those who are giving out wedding favors, though.

as a member of singles for christ we participated in fund-raising activities for gawad kalinga (gk). it’s amazing how $1200 can already build a gk house. to think that this is such a small amount compared to the difference it can make to people’s lives. once after an sfc conference i was so inspired about gawad kalinga that i decided to collect still good but unwanted clothes from my workmates and i sold them on ebay. it wasn’t much but i was able to raise $80 for gk :)

gk is not just about building houses for the poor. it is also about giving people skills to help make them self-sufficient, among other things. for more infomration on gawad kalinga and how to help, click on http://www.gawadkalinga.org/whatisgk.htm.

we’ll be giving away cards to the guests saying that in lieu of souvenirs, we’re donating to gawad kalinga. hopefully some of our guests who are not familiar with gk will be sympathetic to their plight. :)
